New Improvements/Features: Send Global Message To Game World
January 14th, 2009 by SM Dev (Ste)
A new feature has recently been added in the form of ‘Send Global Message To Game World’, and this builds on the improvements we have recently made to the newspaper.
The ‘Send Global Message To Game World’ has six ‘Message Types’ being:
- General Message;
- Player For Sale;
- Player For Loan;
- Player For Part-Exchange;
- Looking For Player To Buy;
- Looking For Player On Loan.
The ‘Subject’ will also automatically default to display the game world and club the message is from.
If you would like to send a global message to every manager within your game world then you will need to click on the ‘Send Global Message To Game World’ button within the ‘Game World Overview’ page:

If you do not wish to receive any global game world messages then you have the option to disable this feature by selecting the ‘Game Messages’ tab within ‘My Profile’:

We hope that this new feature will build on the improvements we have recently made to the newspaper, and allow more communication between managers within each respective game world.

yes it is what the newspaper is for, so now u can send it twice!

So would the message go to the private messages box or on the gameworld overview message area?
I’m not sure I want it as a Private message, but having it go to the overview page does no harm….

Ok, I think I get the idea (having actually read the page again and had a look at the game overview page)… fine, nice idea. why not.

Worst “upgrade” ever - a PRIVATE message is meant to be just that, PRIVATE - not a message that goes to everyone in the setup!
That is what the newspaper is for!
I recieve between 5 and 10 of these a day in the various GC’s and it does my head in!

We’ve been discussing it on the forum, and the general feeling is that it is one of the worst improvements ever. Incredibly annoying, I get loads of messages every day related to players that are too good or too poor for my club, and it’s really annoying.
Can there be an option somewhere to turn off getting global messages?

I didn’t realise you could block these PMs, not sure if this was the case when the feature was rolled out a while back, but it solves the problem.

So there’s no way for me to disable the unwanted ’spam’ but also to enable the few relevant global messages? Terrible idea. Can it.

terrible idea theres a perfcetly good newspaper there so u dont have to send annoying messages to everyone!

This is just ridiculous!
Since it was introduced i have received so many private messages about players. Its so annoying! I know you can block it but its still a ridicolous idea because in general if a manager is looking to buy players they will look on the transfer list and look on the game world news section for messages posted there so adding another thing just takes its completely over the top.
Managers will just take the mess out of this and eventually they will send like 10 global messages if they are really that desperate to sell players or buy players!
Get Rid!!!

There’s no harm in this? I think it’s a great idea and it is way better so you can no what the opposite guy actually wants from you. I never got it as a spam but i am afraid that some people did get it as a spam…
