General Help/FAQ: What Can Influence a Rating?

October 23rd, 2008 by SM Dev (Ste)

Each week our team of researchers will assess players performance from certain leagues (based on their performance over a significant period of time) to decide whether they warrant an increase or decrease in rating.

The main factors that contribute to a down-rating include:

  • Long term injury;
  • Serious dip in form;
  • Dropping down a league level;
  • Lack of regular first team football;
  • Long term suspension from the game.

The main factors that contribute to an up-rating include:

  • Individual awards and accolades;
  • Domestic honours;
  • Continental honours;
  • International honours;
  • Domestic experience;
  • Continental experience;
  • International experience;
  • Reaching the next stage in their career (e.g proving themselves in a higher division or at a continental/international level).

Please Note: The majority of players will not have their rating changed unless they fall into the above categories. Also players will not have their rating changed purely on playing time (minutes accumulated) unless they fall into the above categories.
