General Help/FAQ: Unmanaged clubs & transfers

March 4th, 2008 by SM Dev (Ste)

Last week there was an alteration to the transfer system.

Previously when a club became unmanaged or had been unmanaged within a setup, any manager could make a transfer offer and it was accepted (if met both chairmans valuation) and processed regardless of change in management.

The new change now means that if you put a transfer offer into a club which has become unmanaged or has been unmanaged within your setup, and a new manager takes control of the club in question, then all transfer offers (TBD) are collapsesd.

I will explain what all of this means to save any confusion.

There are two types of symbols in relation to transfers in TBD and ABD:

  • TBD - The Player has a transfer bid;
  • ABD - Accepted transfer bid.

However the above symbols will vary between managed clubs and unmanaged/external clubs controlled by the AI:

  • Managed Clubs: Whenever you place an offer for any player at a managed club the symbol TBD will appear next to his name. It will only change to ABD once the other manager has accepted the transfer offer. If it mathces both chairmans valuations then it will usually be processed the next morning (however transfers can happen at any point during a 24 hour period).
  • Unmanaged/External Clubs: Whenever you place an offer for any player at a unmanaged/external club controlled by the AI the symbol TBD will appear next to his name. However, unlike managed clubs the AI will not accept the transfer offer straight away, and this will mean that the symbol will remain as TBD.  Usually you have to wait until the morning (however transfers can happen at any point during a 24 hour period) to find out if your offer has been successful or not. If your offer is successful with the AI (in control of an unmanaged/external club) then the offer will briefly change from TBD to ABD prior to the transfer being processed.

With the new change to the transfer system, the above means that if an unmanaged clubs now becomes managed, then the transfer offer (TBD) will collapse, and this is due to a change in management.

This is exactly what happens to a managed club in relation to a player(s) having TBD or ABD next to their name. If a manager has submitted a transfer offer (TBD) for a player and the offer remains unaccepted or becomes accepted (ABD), and there is a change in management, then the transfer offer (TBD) or accepted offer (ABD) will collapse (due to change in management).

This should prevent any new manager when taking control of his new club losing his best player(s), and make it more appealing for him to manage.
